Union Home Ministry extends COVID-19 guidelines till March 31. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday issued an order to extend the COVID-19 “guidelines for surveillance, containment and caution” till March 31. “While there has been a substantial decline in the active and new COVID-19 cases, there is need to maintain surveillance, containment and caution so as to fully overcome the pandemic. Containment zonesIt asked the States to demarcate the containment zones carefully and ensure that prescribed containment measures are strictly followed within these zones. The January guidelines permitted the opening of cinema halls and theatres at a higher capacity than the 50% seating strength.
